The following are generally not insurable:

Motor vehicles for which liability insurance is required by law (except e-bikes and trailers),
Ships for which liability insurance is required by law or which are not regularly drained after use,
aircraft which are to be entered in the aircraft register,
motorized watercraft,
Movable structures,
Sports equipment, bicycles and motorbikes, each including equipment, in competitive use during the rental period,
Items that are not functional at the start of the rental.

Damage

due to theft, fire and natural hazards,
which gradually or not have arisen suddenly (other than due to the effects of temperature or liquid), e.g. due to exposure to light, moisture, drought, oxidation or spoilage,
as a result of wear and tear, aging, color change, material fatigue,
which have arisen without external influences, such as internal operational damage,
by vermin and rodents,
if the rented item is not used as intended,
as a result of foreclosure under debt enforcement law or confiscation by state bodies,
by pets as a result of scratching, biting and excrement,
in connection with trips that are not officially approved,
when transporting the item by third parties,
which have an optical character,
which fall under the manufacturer's or retailer's warranty or arise as part of repair and maintenance work.
